The University of South Alabama's new dining facility is the first building on campus to be LEED Certified. The multi-purpose Student and Faculty dining hall acheived LEED Silver Certification. The project design allows for the building's energy reduction by maximizing the use of daylight, lighting controls, and by reducing heat load with a reflective roof. Water conserving fixtures are utilized to decrease water consumption. The project also incorported the use of LED lighting with full cut off photometry at exterior locations to reduce power consumption and control light trespass.
